Expression of Interest Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Program bega valley shire council Proposed Merimbula Sewage Treatment Plant upgrade and proposed Deep Ocean Outfall project, Merimbula, NSW Bega Valley Shire Council is seeking Aboriginal people and organisations wishing to be consulted as part of an Aboriginal cultural heritage consultation program for the proposed Merimbula Sewage Treatment Plant upgrade and proposed Deep Ocean Outfall project. Council completed an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), which was exhibited in 2021. As part of the proposal to construct a deep ocean outfall, a Preferred Infrastructure Report (PIR) is now being prepared. This report will provide updated project information and reflect on conclusions reached in the EIS. The Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Program will form part of the PIR, which is being prepared to support an application for development under Part 5.1 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 for this State Significant Infrastructure project.
